Participant ID – Unique participant identifier for related study. Normally, a string that consists of numbers and some alphabets. Participant’s real name is not recommended here.
Start Date – Study start date for this participant. A participant may express interest and enroll early even before a study starts but Start Date is not Registration Date. This date is used to calculate when a visit is accessible by this participant as the study progresses.
Cohort – Also know as sub-groups. This is useful if there are certain questionnaires that require a certain group of participants to complete. E.g. if conducting a family-oriented study, certain questionnaires may target the parents (cohort) and the children (cohort) respectively.
Status Questions – A series of questions required for the participant. This can be additional information or a trigger question whereby a designated answer will affect the availability of a visit or questionnaire to the participant involved.
Group Access – Drop-down only allows the ‘Participant’ group which is just 1 level higher than the ‘Guest’ group (lowest access level). In short, participant group only allows attempt questionnaires and modify email/ password by default.
Username – User login name to ClinDATC system which must consists from a combination of a-z, A-Z, 0-9 and ‘_’ characters. This is not participant’s real name.
Email – Unique in database and allows for password recovery but some studies have no use for this (e.g. participants are invited to work on the lab workstations, pre-logged in by study coordinators). Any ‘fake’ email can be accepted as long as it passes the email format validation. A new user/participant account is ‘activated’ only if he/she clicks the link in the verification email. However this verification requirement can be disabled in Settings page.
Password / Verify Password – Requires 6 or more characters.
